Use my lessons on J.B. Priestley’s iconic play, An Inspector Calls, to help you revise and reach the highest GCSE grades. This content is applicable to all of the GCSE exam boards, including AQA and Edexcel. They are useful for both GCSE and IGCSE and often can be used for both exam and coursework syllabuses.

 These lessons cover:

  • Analysis of the Inspector
  • Analysis of Mr Birling
  • Analysis of Sheila
  • Everything you need to know about the context
  • Enhancing your essays through sophisticated vocabulary
  • How to analyse form
  • How to write a grade 9 argument
  • How to write intros and conclusions
  • Analysing the ending of the play
  • How to analyse the audience' reaction
  • Why the play is set in 1912 when it was performed in 1945

All of these videos are on my YouTube channel. However, there are a few benefits to watching them here instead:

  1. You can register to keep a track of which videos you’ve watched
  2. You can bookmark lessons for later
  3. There may or may not be no ads, but I can neither confirm nor deny and I definitely didn't tell you if YouTube asked, OK?

There are also resources to help you in the Study Materials section:

Thank you very much for this, and all of your videos! It is so helpful to have videos that really stretch your understanding and allow you to find and analyse moments in the play that I find other AIC videos just skip over and then focus on the surface level arguments! So grateful-especially as my school did this part of the English course in lockdown :)
